Hi all, can anyone help? I am after information that can help me go further back in my research. I have got back to a John Stanley born abt 1698 and an Ann Shayler born abt 1703 of Snowshill, Gloucester. There son Richard Stanley born abt 1729 Snowshill married an Anna Skey born 1731. Richard and Ann had a son Isaac Stanley born 1772. Am I correct and can anyone help? Reagrds Shaun Simms, Stoke-on-Trent

Subject:Stanley Family In Broadway, Worcestershire
Interestingly I have located my Great, Great, Great, Grandad who was William Stanley, living at the time of the 1861 Census in the Bakers Arms, High Street, Broadway, Worcs. Obviously it doesn't exist anymore, but at the time he was living with his wife Martha, sons William, Job, Thomas & Samuel and daughters Sarah and Martha. One huge family. Also on the census there is a beautifully named daughter Minnea Stanley who was a granddaughter, but whose child it was I do not know. Right now I am enjoying discovering my long lost ancesters. Just thought I would share my story :)

Subject:trying to find my links from 1790 back to the original Stanleys in Staffordshire
Hello distant relatives, I live near Ottawa, Ontario Canada. I've been researching my family tree. Does anyone have information on my 3rd great grandfather's parentage? If so, it would be appreciated. I know that his family was in Ireland for a few generations. Lore has it that one of his ancestors was at the Battle of the Boyne. The names Robert and Leonard (and of course George and Thomas) which originate from his ancestors, show up in his descendants. Here's some details about him: Name: Thomas George Stanley Birth: ABT 1780 in Ireland (Roscommon ? or Limerick? or Tipperary?) Death: BEF 1831 in Ireland Marriage 1 Elizabeth Jane Hodgins b: 1781 in Silverstream, Cloghjordan, Tipperary, Ireland Married: 1804 in Tipperary, Ireland

Subject:Thomas Stanley second Earl Derby
My family tree concerning the Stanley's has been researched by three members of my family for over thirty years and can show an unbroken line of decent from my Mother through her fathers family line directly to Adam de Aldithley born AD 1005. My direct ancestor was the illegitimate son of James Stanley,Bishop of Ely died 1514/1515. The name Gerard Stanley is noticeable in an ancestor and may reflect the link between the Stanley family and the Gerard family of Bryn in Lancashire. Another relative in my family tree was the groom to The Grosvenor family and the a Earl Grosvenor. The family were recorded as living in Handbridge, Chester and latterly in Liverpool and the Wirral. My own name William Stanley was given to me as a reminder of an earlier William de Stanley. My relative is making further progress in researching the link that confirms Ancestry with King Henry VII.
